With deep sadness, we share the loss of Helen (Hels) Nicol, our beloved teammate and Head of Product. Helen was more than just a leader and an expert in her field; she was a mentor, champion of growth and constant source of support for everyone around her. A frequent industry panel speaker and member of numerous operational committees, Helen was an integral part of CloudMargin and the collateral management industry as a whole.
Helen’s experienced leadership in collateral management brought her to spearheading CloudMargin’s Product team in 2021. She was responsible for driving the development and delivery of innovative collateral management solutions that empower firms to navigate complex market conditions with efficiency and ease. Helen led significant product development initiatives, and her innovation continues to contribute to the company’s growth and success.
Prior to CloudMargin, Helen served as Global Product Director at Lombard Risk (acquired by Vermeg), where she played a pivotal role in the development of the COLLINE platform for over 14 years. With more than 20 years of experience in collateral management, financial markets and law, Helen honed her expertise through key roles at two global investment banks, bringing to her work a unique blend of technical knowledge, client perspective and regulatory insight.
Helen had an incredible work ethic, leading with integrity and professionalism. She took immense pride in her exemplary work and had a rare gift for bringing out the best in those around her. Helen made a lasting impact on both our work and our lives, shaping countless careers along the way. Her legacy will continue through the people she mentored, the friendships she forged and the world-class products she helped create.
We miss Hels dearly and will carry her spirit forward. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time. Hels will always be remembered as a cherished member of the CloudMargin team.
